He urged the private sector to invest more without harboring any doubt on the Maoist-led government, adding that this government was not principally different than the past ones regarding the economic aspects. [break]
Addressing the western regional-level seminar on Control of Revenue Leakage, in Butwal on Saturday, the Finance Minister pledged to address all problems of the entrepreneurs and businesspersons.
"The government is ready to coordinate with the private sector for economic development. But it will not show any flexibility if petty problems were raised."
Minister Pun said that revenue leakage, economic development and social stability were not maintained due to lack of institutionalization of political achievements.
He also said that the government was moving ahead in a transparent manner by taking the private sector in confidence. Minister Pun was of the opinion that all responsible bodies should run as per the wish and directive of the people by being transparent.
During the program, Regional Administration of Western Region Narayan Gopal Malegu said that many genuine entrepreneurs were marred due to a handful of entrepreneurs´ unhealthily conducts.
Also speaking at the program, Chief of Revenue Division at the Finance Ministry Shantra Raj Subedi said that the government would address the genuine issues of the business community and also urged the entrepreneurs to give information by indentifying the sectors of revenue leakage.
On the occasion, Deputy Director General at Inland Revenue Department Bishnu Prasad Nepal said the government was willing to create an environment in which the taxpayers will pay tax voluntarily, not by force and the private sector also should be active to this end.
