Talking to the media in the capital, the NC president said, ‘That whether to go for new CA polls or parliamentary elections cannot be determined unless a consensus government is formed. The country will not get rid of the current crisis unless NC takes charge of the government.” [break]
Koirala also blamed growing trust deficit among political parties on the government’s ‘unilateral’ move to announce the date of new CA elections. "It was Maoists who spoiled the environment of trust. Now, it is Maoists themselves who should build it."
Arguing that the current political crisis has no end as long as the Baburam Bhattarai-led government stays on, Koirala said his party would exploit all three options on hand. "We are ready for talks, for protest and for a presidential move to oust this government," he added.
He also lambasted PM Bhattarai for his recent remark that his job has been tough owing to foreign interventions. "If foreigners take decisions for Nepal, he (the PM) should be able to stop it. If he can´t, he should quit. Not for a single minute should the PM be staying on," Koirala said.
