Work begins at Mulpani Cricket Ground

KATHMANDU, May 31: The Cricket Association Of Nepal (CAN) has been planning to build the international Mulpani Cricket Ground for over a decade, but the plan was never realized on account of disputes within the association.



But the first stage of the project is finally underway. According to Dal Bahadur Lama, supervisor of Lama Construction, which bagged the tender to build the stadium at Mulpani, ground surveyance began on May 18.



Analysis has been made of the ground to direct the first steps in the process of cutting and filling of the field. Lama added that the survey had been completed and field work would begin within about four days. Binay Raj Pandey, CAN president, and Lama Construction are both optimistic the cricket stadium will be ready by the end of the year.
