NC dist chiefs urge prez to take measures to end crisis

KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Expressing serious dissatisfaction over the government bid to rule the country through ordinances, Nepali Congress (NC) district presidents on Friday urged President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to act against it as the guardian of the constitution.



They made the request to the head of state during their meeting with him at his official residence in Shital Niwas today. In response, President Yadav expressed his hope that the ongoing political impasse will end soon.[break]



Saying that the political parties have a role to play to end the current crisis, President Yadav stated he would take steps in that direction as provided in the constitution.



On the occasion, NC district presidents also apprised the president on decisions taken during the recently concluded two-day national gathering in Barhabise of Sindhupalchwok.
