Licenses of 8 dairy cooperatives scrapped in Kavre

BANEPA, July 29: The Cooperatives Division Office, Kavrepalanchwok has scrapped the licenses of eight dairy cooperatives for not meeting the criteria.



Those cooperatives have not held general meeting and have not conducted an audit of the accounts for ten years, said the Division.[break]



Licenses of eight cooperatives based in Ryale, Kushadevi, Dev Bhumi, Methinkot including Simsar Dairy Cooperatives, Simalchaur Dairy Cooperatives, Ranitar Dairy Cooperatives, Kalika Dairy Cooperative and Mahakali Dairy Cooperatives have been annulled, according to the Division.



Of those cooperatives, some were found making minimal transactions, said Division´s senior clerk Pradeep Ranabhat who recently returned after a field study of the cooperatives.



According to Ranabhat, licenses of around 50 cooperatives are in the process of cancellation. There are around 1,470 cooperatives in the district.
