The government formed talks´ team is led by Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula.
The agitators formed a 50-member team following a lengthy meeting in Kailali on Wednesday and the jumbo team left for Kathmandu to hold negotiations with the government Wednesday evening, according to Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kailali Kailash Kumar Bajimaya.
The team includes those leading the protest for undivided Far West, political activists, civil society been demanding that Kailali and Kanchanpur districts be included in Tharuhat state.
Life in the seven hilly districts of the region has become miserable with no supply of essential goods. Our Doti correspondent Pushpa Raj Joshi reports that daily wage earners have been the hardest hit due to the indefinite strike.
“We work for the whole day to earn two square meals. It has been 13 days we have no work,” said Hari Damai from Silgadi municipality - 5, Dipayal.
