KATHMANDU, April 29: The balmy evening of April 27 saw a true fusion of eastern and western art and culture at the Heritage Night at Le Sherpa.

The parking lot of the French restaurant was alit with huge LED screen and revolving spotlights as Kutumba performed their foot tapping numbers, most of which haven’t even been recorded yet.[break]

The evening stood true to its name as the boys from Everest B Boying group danced along with the Lakhey to the tunes of Kutumba.

“This concept was originally thought of by NayanTara Gurung Kashapati of photo.circle for a performance at the 2012 Momo Mania. We liked the concept and thought we should continue it and it fit the concept of the event perfectly,” said Pavit Maharjan, the percussionist and front man of Kutumba.

Along with the folk ensemble Dhimey by Dhimey Nepa, Lakehy and Kathak dancers performed at the event dedicated to Nepal’s rich heritage to bring out the essence of Nepali culter and tradition.

Organized by Premier Events, to reintroduce our culture to Kathmanduites who are rapidly moving towards modernization, the night saw a fusion in terms of cuisine as well as French food with Nepali twist was served.

Though a wedding planning company, Heritage Night was the first ever public event organized by Premier Events.
