The expo kicked off at Direction Exhibition and Convention Center at United World Trade Center, Tripureshwar. It will continue till Sunday.

The expo is being organized with the objective of raising awareness on health issues and fostering positive attitude in people towards health care.

Most of the visitors at the expo were found attracted toward herbal products, weight losing medicines and exercise equipments. They were also keen to know about different facilities provided by health clubs and hospitals.

Different companies have used the expo to introduce tablets and equipment that guarantee up to 10 kg weight loss within a month.

“Attraction toward weight losing medicines and equipment is growing because many people do not have time for work outs due their busy schedules,” said an official of Nirogdham - a health training center.

Chitra Poudel, coordinator of the event, chose to describe the expo as a social event. “Rather than doing business, it is a social event organized with the objective of bringing together wide range of health and fitness related services and products under a single roof and providing information on issues related to health and fitness," added Poudel.

Visitors at the expo can also undergo aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and foot and body message through different equipment.

The expo also incorporates side events like inter club aerobic competition, free Zumba classes, Aqua Zumba classes, free yoga sessions, blood donation camp, AIDS awareness program and free dental check up among others.

Aqua Zumba - a water-based exercise that helps in cardio-conditioning and body toning - is being introduced for the first time in Nepal during the expo.
