41 power thieves fined in Dang

LAMAHI, Dang, Jan 18: Nepal Electricity Authority, Dang fined 41 electricity stealers in the district. They were during a monitoring found to be stealing power through hooking, said Dipak Jung Chaudhary, Chief of the NEA electricity distribution centre, Tulsipur.

The power thieves have been slapped between Rs 2,000 to Rs 83,000 in fine depending on the severity of the case. So far, around Rs 500,000 have been collected thourhg fines for power theft, said the NEA. The center has intensified a crackdown on power theft in the area.
