SEOUL, March 29: South Korean government has intensified its crackdown against illegal migrant workers residing in the country.
South Korea's Department of Immegration (DoI) has arrested hundreds of forerign citizens including 40 Nepali citizens who are living illegally in the country.

DoI arrested more than 40 Nepali citizens from Thegu, Ansan, Ichhan area of few days ago.
16 Nepalis and 26 foreigres were arrested from a textile company last Tuesday evening from Thegu .
The DoI has set a goal of deporting a total of 70,000 illegal migrants by May this year.
DoI officers have increased their vigil at railway stations, companies and major locations where foreigners gather.
According to Prem Kumar Shah, chairman of Nepal-Korea Liaison Committee, he has urged the migrant workers to be alert regarding their safety during travel. Shah added that his organization will assist to those who have faced problems due to the latest move of the South Korean government.
Meanwhile, the Korean government has said that it would allow returning in the country again if the illegal migrants leave the country voluntarily. It has set the September 30 deadline for leaving the country.
