4 dead, 7 injured in jeep accident

CHITWAN, Dec 4: Four people were killed and another seven injured after a jeep met with an accident at Bhainse VDC of Makwanpur on Sunday.



The vehicle fell from a road section and landed on another road section below, said police citing eyewitnesses. Manmaya Tamang, 65, of Handikhola-4, Makwanpur, Padam Bahadur Biswokarma, 60, of Singaul, Bara, and Gyan Kumar Ale, 30, of Kogate, Makwanpur died on the spot while a three-year-old identified as Daniel Biswokarma of Singaul, Bara, died while being treated at Hetauda Hospital, according to the District Police Office, Makwanpur.



The Bolero jeep (2537) taking passengers from Kathmandu to Hetauda veered off the road at Chuniya of Bhainse-7. Of those injured, two are receiving treatment at Hetauda Hospital.



Five others, who have serious injuries, are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Chitwan. Police suspect the vehicle met with the accident after the driver lost control.
