KATHMANDU, March 15: Hundreds of passengers were stranded at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), as hazy weather compelled authorities to cancel more than three dozen domestic flights and reschedule all international flights Sunday.

“A total of 37 flights in the domestic sector were cancelled and all international flights were delayed due to thick haze that developed in the sky weakening the visibility for operating flights,” Triratna Manandhar, chief of Civil Aviation Office at the TIA said.

Manadhar said a total of 16 flights out of 49 scheduled by Yeti Airlines and 14 out of 49 flights of Buddha Air were cancelled Sunday.
