Kyapchhaki of Nepal Police scored 378 out of 400 points, while Chaudhary of Central Region and Banjara of Nepal Army scored 377 and 372 points respectively.[break]
In women´s 10 meters air pistol, Sabita Basnet of Nepal Police scored 339 out of 400 points to remain on top. Rubina Shrestha from Eastern Region scored 335 points and Bishnu Pun from Mid-western Region accumulated 317 points.
Tikaram Shrestha from Eastern Region leads in men´s 10 meters air rifle with a score of 569 points out of 600. Ram Babu Dani of Nepal Police is in the second spot with 538 points while Mohan Shah from Mid-western Region scored 528 points.
Nepal Army´s shooter Kuber KC scored 536 points out of 600 in the men´s 10 meters air pistol event to top the leaderboard on the first day. Abdul Waheeb from Mid-western Region scored 527 points and Bibek Raj Dhungel from Central Region collected 519 points.
After the completion of preliminary rounds, the top eight shooters will vie for the title in individual events.
Altogether 78 shooters -- 42 men and 36 women -- are participating in the tournament organized by Nepal Shooting Association.
