NC, UML hold talks on govt formation

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Leaders of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the formation of Government at NC President Sushil Koirala´s residence in Maharajgunj.



Leader Bhim Rawal and General Secretary Iswor Pokharel from UML were also present at the meeting which dwelt on the issues of formation of a national consensus government. [break]



It has been learned that UML would only accept Maoist leadership if they are able to chart out a concrete plan for concluding the peace process.



Talking to reporters after the meeting, NC leader Ram Sharan Mahat said that the leadership can be given to Maoist only if a concrete time line regarding implementation of the peace process is formulated.



Koirala, Mahat and other NC leaders like Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Dr Minendra Rijal also attended the meeting.
