The fire which started on April 19 is spreading to the southern and western parts of the reserve over a total area of 350 square kilometers. Although the army has secured the area affected by fire, they are making no effort to douse it.
The fire spreading fast due to the blustry weather has begun worrying villagers who live in areas near the reserve. The fire has destroy various species of reed found there.
If the fire is not brought under control soon, there is a high chance it will spread to the Dudua National Park in neighboring India.
"We have just found out about the fire, and now we will proceed to douse it," said Kishor Mehta, deputy conservation officer at the park on Tuesday.
