BIRGUNJ, August 7: Chairman of the Sadbhawana Party, Rajendra Mahato, has said that the three major political parties should be responsible to conclude the peace process and forge national consensus.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the party on Sunday, Mahato said peace process and constitution writing were not completed on time due to parties’ failure to forge national consensus.[break]

He claimed that the first draft of the constitution can be prepared by August 31 if the major parties acted responsibly.

However, he said that national consensus was not possible without agreement of the Madhes-based political parties.

He was of the opinion that the Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal should step down to pave the way for national consensus as per the five-point agreement.

On the occasion, Mahato termed that the political party formed by Anil Jha after defecting the Sadbhawana Party was against the constitution.
