Prime thrashed Golden Gate College 17-11 in the women´s final held at the covered hall of the Dasharath Stadium.[break]
Prime dominated both the periods to take the game in its side. Most-Valuable-Player (MVP) Deepika Upreeti´s six points guided the team for the victory. Prime took the first period 10-5 as Upreeti scored four. Prime took the second period by a single point lead, scoring 7-6 for the win. NASA finished third in the women´s category.
In the competitive match of men´s final, Golden Gate ´B´ edged past Premier ´C´ for a 20-19 narrow margin victory. Golden Gate took hold of the first period 7-4 which was enough to ensure its victory even though Premier fought back in the second period to register a 15-13 win. MVP Sujan Pun scored 13 points for the winning team while Rajiv Joshi and Yukta Bhakta Mathema scored nine points each for the losing side.
Joshi´s two points in the last 20 seconds of the match leveled the score at 19-19 and made the match more interesting. Immediately after that, Sushil Gurung of Golden Gate was dribbling the ball towards the basket as Risab Shrestha fouled him. Gurung earned a free throw for Golden Gate and netted a point to win the thriller with just eight seconds remaining for the final whistle.
Joshi tried a two pointer two seconds from time but it did not enter the basket and gave Golden Gate the hard-fought victory.
South Siders secured the third position in the championship.
