KATHMANDU, June 26: The Lalitpur District Court on Sunday pasted a notice at the house of former Inspector General of Police Om Bikram Rana summoning him to appear in court within 15 days in connection to the Sudan scam.

The court officials reached the residence of the former Nepal Police chief in Kusunti, Lalitpur and pasted the notice after he refused to receive the court order saying he would accept it only after consulting his lawyer. [break]

Early in the day, the court pasted a similar notice at the residence of suspended Additional Inspector General of Police Madan Bahadur Khadka in connection with the multi-million dollar scam.

Rana, Khadka and several other high ranking police officials have been facing charges of embezzlement in the controversial Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) purchase by Nepal Police for its peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.
