Committee formed to reshuffle secretaries

KATHMANDU, May 13: The cabinet on Friday formed a three-member committee to recommend the reshuffling of government secretaries.



The committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara will submit a report to the prime minister Saturday morning, according to Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadga Bahadur Biswakarma. [break]



The committee comprises of Defense Minister Bishnu Paudel and Minister for General Administration Yuba Raj Karki.



The cabinet meeting also formed a committee that will hold dialogues with various agitating groups.



The committee comprises of Minister for Peace and Reconciliation Bishwa Nath Sah, Minister without portfolio Ghana Shyam Bhusal and Minister for Agriculture and Co-operative Hari Narayan Yadav, according to government Spokesperson Ganga Lal Tuladhar.



The cabinet also decided to reward Transparency International, Nepal, with Rs 500,000 in appreciation of the anti-graft watchdog´s work in the field of good governance.



Tuladhar also informed that the government decided to waive the royalty paid by former Foreign Minister Shailendra Kumar Upadhyay to the government for climbing the Mount Everest.



Upadhyaya, who died this week while trying to climb the tallest peak, had paid US$ 25,000 royalty to the government.
