The diplomatic passports of Shah and Yadav were used to fly two persons to Australia last month but were sent back home from Abu Dhabi. [break]
Meanwhile, the discovery of fake visa notes prepared in the names of Shah and Yadav has mystified the high-profile scam.
The most striking revelation is that Shah, of Nepali Janata Dal, and Yadav, of People´s Rights Forum, had also provided their citizenship certificates and CA Identity cards together with passports for the forgery that, officials said, smacks of a big monetary deal. “The lawmakers´ documents were tampered, simply changing their photos, to obtain visas for others,” officials said.
Officials said it is mystifying why a lawmaker should give his or her passport to another person.
Lawmaker Shah had lodged a complaint with the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) a few days ago stating that her passport was misused by a person, whose identity is being withheld owing to the sensitivity of the investigation.
MoFA had started investigation in this connection following the return of Prithivi Chantyal, who had used Yadav´s passport (019893), and an unidentified woman, who was traveling on Shah´s (019826), from Abu Dhabi.
