Local administration released Regmee on a bail of Rs 1,000 on Monday as Khanal, in the statement, also asked the police administration to pardon his wrongdoing.

Chief District Officer of Sunsari Ram Prasad Thapaliya said although Regmee was sent to 15 days in detention, he was released on Monday as he self-criticized for the mistake.

After being freed, Regmee issued a statement that said he committed a “mistake” by slapping Khanal.
