2559th Buddha Jayanti, Lumbini Day on Monday

RUPANDEHI, May 3: The 2559th Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day-2072 is to be marked by praying for eternal peace to the departed souls of those who died in the devastating April 25 earthquake.

The government is all set to mark the day for the well-being of all by organising worshiping as per the Buddhist tradition.


Member Secretary of the Lumbini Development Trust Ajitman Tamang said the Buddha Jayanti will be marked by reciting Mahaparitran and Pranidhan by Buddhist monks, nuns and lighting 2559 lamps. He said there will not be any special formal programme but only lighting of lamps and mass prayer. RSS
