250 houses gutted in fire in Bara and Parsa

RAUTAHAT, April 13: Over 200 houses were gutted in fire outbreaks in Bara and Parsa district on Saturday. A massive fire in Basbitti Jingadiya and Raghunathpur VDCs in Rautahat gutted over 100 houses on Saturday.



The fire which started from the house of Isha Ahamad of Basbitti Jingadiya VDC-9 engulfed the entire village and spread toward the neighboring Raghunathpur VDC in no time leaving 50 families homeless. It is estimated that the fire destroyed properties worth millions of rupees.[break]



A fire brigade from Gaur Municipality had reached the village to douse the fire. But it took four hours for the joint team of Nepal Police, Nepali Army and the locals to take the fire under control. The fire was brought under control only at around 7 pm. No human causality has been reported so far.



Similarly, 125 houses were gutted in another fire outbreak in Dhore of Parsa district, according to our correspondent Ritesh Tripathi. The fire destroyed food grains, livestock and other belongings of the villagers.



The fire had not been taken under control till late Saturday evening though fire engines from Birgunj and Raxaul had been struggling to douse the fire for hours.
