25 entrepreneurs honoured with 'CIP Award'

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has honoured 25 entrepreneurs from several fields with the 'Commercially Important Person' award amidst a special programme organised here today by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

It may be noted that the Council of Ministers on November 5, 2015 had decided to present the honour to them who include exporters, investors and employers in recognition of their significant contribution to the respective fields.

Ramchandra Sanghai (textile), Dorje Gyaljen Lama (woolen carpet), Rahulman Shakya (readymade garments), Surya Kumar Gurung (Pashmina shawl) and Rabin Shrestha (woolen felt) were honoured for their observable contribution based on amount to the export to the third world countries.

Nepali exporters/industrialists Harkirat Singh Bedi, Dibyaraj Sapkota and Yukti Golchha who were in the top three positions on the basis of export volume to India were among those personalities honoured on the occasion.

Towards export to China, Pemba Dorje Sherpa, Bishwaraj Basnet and Machhindra Pandey have bagged the award.

Gopi Prasad Kandel who brings the highest amount to home through sending Nepali handicrafts promoting Nepali's indigenous skills, art and culture; Sujan Kumar Shrestha and Nirwan Kumar Chaudhary who are the largest exporters of agri-products and herbs prioritised by the Commerce Policy, 2072 BS and Nepal Trade Integrated Strategy, 2073 BS were among those receiving the award.

Others winning the award are woman entrepreneur Rajlaxmi Golchha, software developer Dipesh Pradhan, Hongshi-Shivam Cement's Liu Shuguang. Golchha is the largest woman exporter on the basis of export volume, Pradhan is the largest software exporter and Liu is the largest investor in Nepal.

Pawan Kumar Golyan who is recognised for created the highest number of jobs and IME Limited chair Chandra Prasad Dhakal who is acknowledged for bringing the highest remittance through a banking system make the list of awardees.

Hotel entrepreneur Sureshlal Shrestha (Taragaun Regency Hotel) has been honoured for earning the highest foreign currency and Sunita Sherpa and Akshaya Golyan have been awarded for making the largest export as youth entrepreneurs.

Some people representing private sector were honoured with the honorary award in recognition of their contribution to the nation's economy through export trade and promotional programmes in the sector of commerce.

Those awarded are President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bhawani Rana, Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Rajeshkaji Shrestha and President of Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI), Satish Kumar Mor. Awardees will be entitled six sorts of facilities.

They will be given a CIP card, CIP logo and certificate. They will have a preferential right for official meeting with the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister and senior government officials, as said by Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Dr Baikuntha Aryal.

They will have access to CIP Lounge at Tribhuvan International Airport and the VIP Lounge in other domestic airports. They will be invited as special guests in all commercial and industrial ceremonies.

They will remain in a list of priority to represent the country in foreign business and industrial fairs and exhibitions. They will have recommendations for obtaining the 'SAARC Visa'. Besides, they will be entitled for several other health facilities in coordination with other government bodies.
