Prime win title
Prime won the title of Madan Bhandari Memorial Higher Secondary Basketball Tournament. The the month-long sports meet was organized by Madan Bhandari Memorial Sports Academy. Prime beat National Campus 68-48 in the final match played on the court of Golden Gate College on Friday. Manish Tamang scored 17 points for the winners. Siddhartha Maharjan of Prime won the most valuable player award. CPN (UML) Vice-president Bamdev Gautam handed over awards to the winners and runners-up.
St Xavier´s beat Bidyasagar
Little Angels, Ideal Model and St Xavier´s (Jawalakhel) won their respective matches on Friday in the 15th Father Moran Memorial Primary-level Football Tournament. St Xavier´s outclassed Bidyasagar School 4-1. Kush Thapa struck two goals for the winners while Anamol Pradhan and Biwas Paudel added a goal each. Simon scored a consolation goal for the losing side. Likewise, Ideal Model thrashed United Academy 3-0 as Hritik Maharjan scored two goals and Bijay Gurung added another. Little Angels defeated Machhapuchchhre 2-0 at the ground of hosts St Xavier´s at Godawari. Ajit Raj Kayastha and Paras Bohara scored a goal each for the winners.
SEBS, Deepjyoti set final clash
Samakhushi English Boarding School (SEBS) set up a final clash against Deepjyoti for the title of junior boys´ volleyball in the 17th Eicher Gyan Carnival. SEB defeated hosts Gyanodaya Bal Batika 25-15, 23-25, 25-18 in the semifinal played on Friday. Deepjyoti beat Ambrosia Ideal 25-14, 23-25, 25-12. In boys´ football, Gurukul thrashed GEMS 5-0 while Gyanodaya struggled past Siddhartha Vanasthali 3-2 in a tiebreaker. Meanwhile, GEMS beat Galaxy 32-29 in the girls´ basketball event and Siddhartha Vanasthali eased past Elite Co-ed 54-48 in a match of boys´ basketball event.
