A meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office, Singha Durbar unanimously took the decision, according to Peace and Reconstruction Minister Rakam Chemjong.[break]
A meeting of the committee on September 17 had decided to name the co-ordinator of the 12-member secretariat as soon as possible. But the committee was not able to pick the head of the secretariat that will oversee proposed integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants.
The Maoist had been claiming for the post, which had delayed the appointment. On Tuesday, although Maoist claimed the post of assistant co-ordinator, the meeting did not appoint anyone to the post as there was no support to the Maoist proposal.
Maoist is yet to officially send the name of representative of the People´s Liberation Army (PLA) for the secretariat although it had already decided that Nanda Kishore Pun would represent the Maoist combatants in the secretariat.
The committee will next meet on December 9.
