Shrestha registered a four-stroke victory over Umesh Nagarkoti after the completion of third and final round on Wednesday. .
Playing in the leaders´ group along with Nagarkoti brothers of Umesh and Ramesh, Shrestha carded even-par 67 for a total of three-under 198. [break]Umesh, who shot two-over 69 on the final day, finished second, while Ram Thapa, who shot even-par 67 on the final day, came third with a total of 207.
Ramesh Nagarkoti, who played a round of 73 and reigning Nepal No 1 Rabi Khadka, who shot three-over 70, shared the fourth position at 209. Rupak Acharya, Sanjay Lama and Rajan Thapa were tied for sixth position with the total scores of 212. Dhana Thapa came ninth at 216, while Deepak Neupane finished 10th.
In the Amateur section, Puskar Rajbahak stood in the first position with the scores of 225, while Tashi Ghale was second at 229 strokes. Tashi Tsering was third with the score of 231.
In the main event, winner Shrestha,who started the day with a two-stroke lead over Umesh and five strokes ahead of Ramesh, shot one-under 32 on the front nine to extend his lead to five strokes after Umesh shot two-over 35.

On the back nine, Umesh put some pressure on Shrestha but could not cash on the opportunities. Shrestha shot one-over 35, while Umesh shot even-par 34. Ramesh slipped to fourth behind Ram Thapa after he played three-over on the front and back nine each. Ram Thapa shot one-over on the front nine and one-under on the back nine for a total of even-par 67.
Shrestha, who remained winless in last year´s Surya Nepal Golf Tour after he clinched five trophies in the first edition of the Tour, claimed his sixth career title. “Apart from few holes, I played a good round and there was no much pressure from behind as I played a good round of golf on the front nine,” said Shrestha.
Winner Shrestha won Rs 44,000 out of the total prize purse of Rs 200,000. Umesh received Rs 29,000, while RamThapa bagged Rs 21,000. Ramesh and Rabi took home Rs 14,500 each. Rabindra Man Shrestha, President of Nepal Professional Golfer´s Association (NPGA), sponsored the event.
