The internal dispute surfaced after Bhattarai discussed his political document amidst his party confidants, after discussing the document in public.[break]
The committee had stopped Bhattarai from arranging the meeting. But he held discussions with leaders and cadres on the sidelines of the annual general meeting of Nepal Jaycees in Morang district, Tankisinuwari VDC, before returning to Kathmandu.
Morang district acting in-charge of the committee Ganesh Upreti said, “Bhattarai has formally initiated groupism from Kochila.”
Separate political documents of party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Vice-chairmen duo Mohan Baidhya and Bhattarai will be discussed at the plenum to be held in Gorkha.
Committee in-charge and party politburo member aligned to the Dahal faction, Hari Bol Gajurel, said Bhattarai has crossed the limit by discussing the political document, which is against party policy.
“After Baburamji did that the cadres are pressuring Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal also to initiate discussions. But, it will be a filthy move from our side if we try to copy that act,” he added.
A Sunsari district leader aligned to the Bhattarai faction said after holding talks with cadres that the number of committee members favoring Bhattarai has increased significantly.
Stating that Bhattarai has attempted to pull wool over cadres´ eye, factions aligned to Dahal and Baidhya have also accelerated their meetings with party cadres.
Kochila is considered the second most important state according to internal evaluation by the party.
