Nepal's cooperative bags Asian award

KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Federation of Asian Cooperatives held its General Assembly at Seoul, the Capital of South Korea, on Sept. 9.



During the assembly, President of Central Association of Saving and Credit Cooperatives Min Raj Kandel was elected as Second Vice-President of the Federation for two-year term.[break]



Nepal´s Bindabasini Cooperative Association, Khopasi, won "Saving and Credit Microfinance Technology Award 2010" at the conference where 24 Asian countries took part.



The award was handed over to Bindabasini´s President Bharat Prasad Sharma for its poverty alleviation programme.
