57,513 apply for 3,464 NA vacancies

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Altogether 57,513 candidates have applied for a total 3,464 vacancies announced recently by the Nepal Army. NA had allowed a month and a week´s time to apply for the vacant posts, and the deadline expires Wednesday.



"Both male and female youths have shown overwhelming interest in the recruitment process," said a press release issued by the NA Directorate of Public Relations. [break]"Altogether 57,513 youths, in both the inclusive and open categories, have applied within the stipulated timeframe."



NA said 8,703 candidates have applied for a total 250 vacancies announced for officer-level posts. Similarly, 48,810 candidates have applied for the 3,214 vacancies for junior-level posts.



The aspirants for the posts represent all ethnic groups including Madhesi, Dalit, indigenous groups and also backward geographical regions. Altogether 4,532 females have also applied for the two categories of posts in the army.
