Purnima Bhandari, 48, and the granddaughter Sulochana were killed in their roadside home when a parked jeep (Lu 1 Ja 285) moved in reverse direction after a youth tried to drive it in absence of the driver. Purnima was giving her grandchild an oil massage when the accident took place. Pradip, 10, and Giru, 30, of the same house were also injured in the incident.
The vehicle rammed into a tree before hitting the duo.
Sulochana´s mother Basantaa had gone out to cut grass when the accident occurred. “I knew of the tragedy when I returned home,” she said.
Police have Yogendra Shrestha, 17, who was driving the jeep, under control. The youth doesn´t possess a driving license and was asking for the keys from the driver who was having lunch nearby.
