Prez concerned over deadlock

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has expressed serious concern over parliament´s failure to elect a new prime minister despite repeated voting and has urged political parties to end the deadlock at the earliest.



Yadav conveyed his concern during his meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Tuesday, according to Yadav´s Press Advisor Rajendra Dahal.



Yadav had called the prime minister to express his dissatisfaction over the protracted deadlock over formation of the new government.



"Enough is enough," Dahal quoted president as saying the prime minister.



According to Dahal, Yadav told the prime minister that the ongoing deadlock would erode people´s faith in democratic institutions if not ended immediately.
