KATHMANDU, Oct 26: A total of 21 political parties are participating in Kathmandu constituency no. 1 for the upcoming House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20.
Kathmandu District Election Officer Thakur Prasad Adhikari said that a total of 62 candidates- 38 from 21 different parties and 24 independent candidates have filed their candidacies from the constituency.
According to him, eight political parties and seven independent candidates are contesting the election in constituency no. 1 'A'. Similarly, nine political parties and six independent candidates have filed their candidatures in Kathmandu-1 'B'. Adhikari said that a total of 32 candidates, 21 from the parties and 11 independent candidates are fielding for one post of a member of the House of Representatives in Kathmandu-1.
