Cholera outbreak suspected in Surkhet

SURKHET, Aug 4: Doctors have suspected cholera outbreak in Gangate village of Mehalkuna-1, Surkhet. Stool samples of patients suffering from diarrhea have been sent to Kathmandu for further tests.



Dr Prem Prakash Dev Sharma of Mehalkuna Primary Health Center said, “We have discovered that the source from which residents of Gangate village were getting drinking water is contaminated,” he said.



In the past three days, 52 diarrhea patients from Gangate and neighboring villages have received treatment for diarrhea.
