Paleti’s first international concert to China is being organized by Nepali Embassy based in Beijing with the aim to promote bilateral musical and cultural relationship between these two neighboring countries through the medium of music.[break]
“We’re musicians, so wherever we travel to, our aim will remain the same – to promote Nepali music globally. Though this visit is an unofficial one, we’ll definitely be in touch with music experts during our visit to China. I sincerely believe there is potential of mutual cooperation between Nepali and Chinese musicians,” the music master Amber Gurung shared.
A living legendary of Nepali modern music, Gurung is also the composer of Nepal’s first republic national anthem. Also the chancellor of the newly-formed Music and Drama Academy of Nepal, Gurung’s tour to China is his informal visit.
“I’m confident that Amber Gurung’s performance in Beijing will be successful in conveying the Trans-Himalayan love from Nepal to the Chinese people,” said Tanka Prasad Karki, Nepali Ambassador to China.
The Beijing-based Nepali Embassy has informed that all the preparations are nearing completion for the two scheduled shows. The first show is to be held at China National Orchestra Concert Hall on June 11, followed by a show in King’s Garden Villa on June 15.
“With this, Paleti enters a new horizon. What started as a small concert series in Kathmandu has in recent times been traveling around the country. Paleti initiative is now crossing borders,” enunciated musician and Paleti coordinator Aaavaas.
