Police claimed that the arrested are the members of the Bibas Bidrohi-led KJWP.
KJWP had attacked a police post based in Nunthala of Khotang on May 8 and looted weapons from there. Police have already arrested 19 members of the party in connection with the attack.
The latest persons arrested have been identified as Bijaya Raj Rai, 29, Pandav Rai, 29, Hastajit Rai, Subarna Rai and Tap Ram Rai, 40. A special police team deputed by Koshi Zonal Police Office arrested them from Dharan and Jhapa on Friday.
Police arrested Bijaya Raj, Pandav and Hasta Jit Rai from a hotel in Dharan-18 on Friday morning acting on a tip-off that they had arrived in Dharan to attend a meeting.
According to SSP Mingmar Lama, the chief of Koshi Zonal Police Office, two others -- Subarna and Topram -- were arrested along with logistics from Dhaijan area in Jhapa based on the information extracted from the trio.
Lama said Bijaya Raj was acting both as secretary of Bibas Bidrohi-led KJWP and general secretary of Nabin Kiranti-led KJWP that sat for dialogues with the government.
Police recovered one pistol, one magazine, three rounds of bullets, one time-bomb, three sets of fake pistols, two Khukuris, five sets of mobile phone and a motorcycle, among other things, from them.
