17 COVID-19 patients died within 13 hours in Banke

NEPALGUNJ, May 19: As many as 17 people died within 13 hours from COVID-19 in Banke district. Among the list of the deceased, nine were undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital while eight were admitted to Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital.

NEPALGUNJ, May 19: As many as 17 people died within 13 hours from COVID-19 in Banke district. Among the list of the deceased, nine were undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital while eight were admitted to Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital. 


According to the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (DCCMC) focal person Tej Oli, eight of the deceased were from Banke, three from Bardiya, and two each from Dang, West Rukum and Kailali. 


A 65-year-old woman from Lamki Chuha-5 of Kailali succumbed to the virus while undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital on Wednesday.  Another 28-year-old male from Tikapur-16 of Kailali also died while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at Bheri Hospital. 


Also, a 65-year-old male from Tulsipur-2 of Dang also died of COVID-19 at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj. Also, a 30-year-old female from Gadwa-7 of Dang succumbed to the virus while undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur.

A 38-year-old female from Thakurbaba-1 of Bardiya died at Bheri Hospital after suffering from the contagious disease on Wednesday. Also, a 63-year-old male from Thakurbaba-1 died at the same hospital due to COVID-19. Another 48-year-old male from Badaiyataal-2 of Bardiya also died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital. 


A 67-year-old male from Nepalgunj-4 of Banke died at Bheri Hospital on Wednesday. Similarly, a 61-year-old male from Nepalgunj-3 also died of the viral disease while undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur. Similarly, a 42-year-old male from Kohalpur-4 of Banke also died at the same hospital after suffering from the virus. Also, a 58-year-old male from Kohalpur-11 of Banke died at the same hospital.


Similarly, a 59-year-old female from Raptisonari-2 of Banke succumbed to the virus at Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur. Similarly, a 45-year-old male from Nepalgunj-6 of Banke also died at Bheri Hospital on Tuesday. 


A 41-year-old male from Kohalpur-12 of Banke breathed his last at Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur. Also, a 73-year-old male from Nepalgunj-18 of Banke also breathed his last at Bheri hospital after failing to recover from COVID-19. 


A 27-year-old male from Triveni-9 of West Rukum breathed his last at the Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur. He had tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, a day prior to his demise. Another 36-year-old male from Sonobheri-11 of West Rukum also died of COVID-19 at the Nepalgunj Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur while undergoing treatment for the disease.


According to Tej Oli, the death toll from COVID-19 in the district has reached 253 with 209 additional deaths of patients from other districts who had arrived in Banke for treatment.
