Passengers flying in from Kathmandu to New Delhi will get easy and convenient connections to Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, the statement added. Kingfisher Airlines connects 61 cities in India and eight international destinations and has over 390 daily departures with a fleet of 66 aircraft.
Janata Bank officially launched
KATHMANDU, April 28: Finance Minister Surendra Pandey inaugurated the main branch office of Janata Bank amid a function on Wednesday. Janata Bank is the 27th commercial bank in the country.
The bank received permission from Nepal Rastra Bank to start banking transaction on March 30, 2010. It had officially started its transaction from April 5, 2010.
The bank has an authorized capital of Rs 4 billion and issued capital of Rs 2 billion. The bank has 826 founding shareholders.
Buddha Air´s ATR 42 conducts test flight
CHITWAN, April 28: Buddha Air operated ATR 42 aircraft on its Kathmandu-Bharatpur flight for the first time on Wednesday. The 47-seater aircraft conducted successful test flight at Bharatpur Airport.
Buddha Air, which has been using 18-seater Beech aircraft on the sector, plans to use ATR 42 aircraft, keeping in view the Nepal Tourism Year 2011 campaign, said Rajan Adhikary, assistant in-charge at Buddha Air´s Bharatpur branch.
The airline has been operating flights to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Bhairahawa, Pokhara and Nepalgunj using ATR 42 aircraft.
Officials of Buddha Air said fare on Kathmandu-Bharatpur sector will reduce from existing Rs 1,915 once the airline starts operating ATR 42 aircraft on the route.
NCC Bank´s scholarship
KATHMANDU, April 28: Nepal Credit and Commerce (NCC) Bank Ltd is providing scholarships worth Rs 36,000 to three low-income, orphan and conflict-hit students of Supreme Model English Boarding School, Thankot.
Nabin Kishor Shahi (class 6), Richard KC (class 5) and Tej Bikram Bhandari (class 3), had been displaced from Humla, Mugu and Gulmi during the Maoist insurgency and their families are unable to support their education.
The bank considers this a part of their corporate social responsibility.
