Prime Minister urges for calm and peace at Nepal-India border (With video)

KATHMANDU, March 10: Prime Minster Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged for calm and peace at the Nepal-India border.

He said that the government highly respects and appreciates the patriotic emotion of the people, however, he appealed to protest away from the border.

“We highly appreciate and respect the sentiments of the people for the country but we request not to follow the unnecessary propagandas and not to protest in the border side. It is better if it is done away from the border side”, said Prime Minister Dahal.

He said that the people to control their impulse and to be calm while protesting.

“We cannot tolerate any sort of interference in our sovereign nation. We have already informed this to India”, said PM Dahal while addressing the delegation from the Far-Western region.

During the meeting, the PM informed the delegation that the government is preparing to announce the deceased Govinda Gautam as martyr and the government will hand over Rs. 1 million to the bereaved family.

Stating that the government will provide free education to the children of late Gautam and the government will take responsibility for the cremation of his body after the postmortem.

Tension is gripping up at the Nepal-India border following the death of Gautam by the bullet fired by the SSB on Thursday.
