RASUWA, June 21: The 15 workers became trapped in the under-construction tunnel of Rasuwagadhi hydropower tunnel after the landslide struck.
According to the project Chief Chhabi Gaire, the electricity supply inside the tunnel has been disrupted for which the workers are suggested to remain inside the tunnel. The workers are said to be unharmed and are in regular contact through walkie talkie.
“There is risk to come out of the tunnel, as the landslide has struck in the route, so they are requested to remain inside for tonight”, informed Gaire. According to CDO Arjun Bhandari, a team of Nepal Police, APF and Nepal Army are in the incident site to rescue the trapped workers.
The under construction hydropower project of 111 Mw capacity is situated at Timure-2 of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality.
