SPORTS BRIEFS: MMC's leadership change

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Manang Marshyangdi Club´s general assembly on Tuesday re-elected Tashi Ghale as the president of the club for the second time.



The assembly also unanimously elected a 14-member working committee. [break]



Ghale was the club´s president during its inception but was replaced by Chhiring Lobsang later on.



MMC have won the A Division League for six times, the last time being in 2006. Ghale said he is preparing to bring South Korean footballers for the upcoming league.





Daffodil Cup



KATHMANDU, Feb 16: NIMS and WITS Academy won their respective matches in the Fourth Daffodil Cup Inter School Junior Football Tournament on Tuesday while Bright Land and St Xaviers´ shared points after playing a draw.



NIMS defeated Mount Glory 2-1 and WITS Academy ousted Lincoln 3-2. Likewise, Bright Land and St Xaviers´ played a 2-2 draw.



In senior boys´ basketball, Young Heart, Galaxy and Pennwood emerged victorious while Excelsior won senior girls´ match.





Raju felicitated



KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Nepal´s ambassador to South Korea Kamal Prasad Koirala felicitated Raju Chhetri on Tuesday in Seoul.



Raju won gold medal in the Fourth Korean Open Taekwondo Championship in Seoul.
