14 cops escorting PM injured in accident

CHITWAN, Feb 11: At least 14 police personnel were injured when a police vehicle escorting Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai met with an accident in Bharatpur on Monday.



Among the injured police personnel is police inspector Madan Jeet Mahara, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)  Dipak Thapa said. [break]



The vehicle was escorting the PM to the Bharatpur airport for his return to the capital after attending a program organized to mark the golden jubilee of Bal Kumar Kanya Higher Secondary School in Narayanghat.



The injured are receiving treatment at Bharatpur Medical College and Chitwan Medical College.
