CHITWAN, April 8: District Police Office, Chitwan has seized a large quantity of marijuana.
On Friday, a total of 180 kg of marijuana was seized from a truck with Indian number plate BR 06 G 2128 coming from Bhandara on Eastern Highway towards Lothar.
Organizing a press conference on Friday, District Police Office, Chitwan informed that marijuana was seized in Lothar of East Chitwan while checking based on the received information. Chief of District Police Office Chitwan, Rameshwar Karki informed Republica that marijuana was hidden by making a false botton in the cabin of the truck.
Marijuana was kept in 16 bags wrapped in plastic. Along with marijuana, the truck and an Indian citizen have also been detained. The arrested person is 30-year-old Kundan Patel from Raxaul, East Champaran, Bihar, India. The police said that he will be prosecuted for drug trafficking.
Karki said that now the investigation is being done. The police believe that the marijuana may be from Nepal.
