KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has requested all levels of government to unite for the successful implementation of federalism.
Deuba said this while inaugurating the National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal (NARMIN)’s 3rd National Convention held in Kathmandu on Sunday. Deuba also said that the federal, provincial and local level elections were conducted in a fair manner, and now there is a need to give priority to the work of making citizens feel good governance and development.
Deuba also made it clear that there should be no delay in the creation of laws so that the local level will be empowered for the successful implementation of federalism. Deuba also emphasized that all public services including public hearings, public meetings, public participation, door-to-door services, should be implemented effectively.
He also urged the local people's representatives to proceed with a zero corruption policy. Deuba also said that in order to end the existing poverty, unemployment, social superstitions and injustices in the country, all aspects should be taken to enhance the capacity of the local level to be able to conduct various programs of economic development.
