KATHMANDU, March 16: Central Department of History under Tribhuvan University, Nepalese Historians’ Association(NHA) and Acharya Community Organization(ACO) are going to organize a program to celebrate the 130th birth anniversary of great historian Baburam Acharya at PK Campus, Bagbazar at 2 p.m.
Issuing a press release today, Secretary General of the NHA Shovakar Kandel informed the media about the program.
The contribution Baburam Acharya made to Nepalese history is very significant. He was given the appellation “Itihas Shiromani” as a respect for his great contribution to the writing of Nepalese history.
It was Baburam Acharya who gave the name “Sagarmatha” to Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world located in Nepal. Sagarmatha means the head of the earth that touches the heaven.
