KAPILVASTU, March 27: A 13-year-old girl was raped by her neighbor at Mayadevi rural municipality-4 in Kapilvastu on Thursday night.
The teenage girl was raped by 25-year-old Azaz Musalman in her own backyard, according to the victim's mother. The girl was coming to her home carrying drinking water from a local water tap when she encountered with the man at around 10 pm.

Dayaram Yadav, a local resident, told Republica Online that another neighbor had rescued the girl from the incident site. "The man was raping her covering mouth with his hand to stifle the sound," Yadav said quoting the neighbor who rescued her.
The victim is undergoing treatment at Taulihawa hospital. Her father has gone to India for job.
The victim's family members and neighbors have knocked the door of District Police Office after Area Police Office at Pakadi did not heed their complaint. Deputy Superintendent of Police Suman Malla said that the investigation against the rape case is underway.
However, the rape accused is still at large. "We are launching a search operation to nab the accused," he said.
