KATHMANDU, April 29: At least 13 persons have been rescued alive from the rubbles of the collapsed buildings by rescue teams from Nepali and foreign armed forces.
Why are we alive?
The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police were mobilized immediately following the devastating 7.8 Richter scale earthquake on Saturday as the government appealed for international support amid an unprecedented crisis in more than 30 districts of the country. Rescue teams from India, China, US among other countries have arrived with relief packages, sniffer dogs and hi-tech equipments.
The rescue teams have used dozers, excavators, drill, digital cameras and gas among other equipments to rescue people alive from the rubbles and retrieve dead bodies. A total of 32 international teams are carrying out rescue and relief operations at the call of the government.
The APF search and rescue team rescued a man alive from the collapsed building of the Sayapatri Guest House at Mitranagar near Gangabu Bus Park's gate no 2 at 10:15 pm on Tuesday, said APF Sub Inspector Ajay Chatkuli.
The team created a breach in the third storey of the collapsed building and cut a concrete pillar to enter the ground floor and rescued the man alive who spent several hours waiting for rescue. Four more persons are assumed to be alive in the building. RSS
