KAVREPALANCHOWK, Feb 15: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Gagan Thapa has said his party will forge an electoral alliance as per need. Talking to leaders and cadres of the party in Banepa on Monday, General Secretary Thapa, however, said the central directives of the party would not count in the local level elections.

"The rural municipalities and municipalities are free to decide whether the party could ally with other parties in the local level election. However, the district working committee of the party could work in coordination to this end," he said, arguing it would be beneficial. If the center directs for the local level election preference, it would not help meet expected results, Thapa added.

Moreover, Thapa assured that elections would be held on time. There is no point in following the rumor, he stressed. Every small level of the party makes the organization strong.

He stressed the need for making the Nepali Congress (NC) active in each community and settlement.

In a separate context,  Thapa argued that the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana was natural. “He [Rana] faces a pile of accusations. He played a role in ruining the judiciary,” said Thapa, making it clear that he was in favor of Rana’s impeachment for a long time.

The Nepali Congress Kavrepalanchowk has been conducting ward level campaigns for organization building for three days.
