KATHMANDU, April 20: Police have arrested 12 individuals from different parts of the country for possessing illegal drugs. Arrests were made in districts including Makwanpur, Chitwan, Morang, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Surkhet, and Sankhuwasabha.
In Makwanpur, 19-year-old Bishal Sarki of Huprachour, Hetauda-4, was arrested from Pipalbot, Hetauda-15, with a substance resembling brown heroin. Similarly, 31-year-old Saran Dangi of Sundarharaicha-2, Morang, was apprehended from Bank Road, Biratnagar-15, according to the Narcotics Control Bureau, Biratnagar branch.
In Chitwan, 61-year-old Shantikumari Mahato and 25-year-old Bishal Sunar, both residents of Bharatpur-26, were arrested from Sisuwa with controlled drugs including Tramadol and what appeared to be marijuana, police at the Chanauli station confirmed.
Drugstore operator arrested for selling illegal drugs

In Kailali, 25-year-old Sanjukumar Chaudhary of Dudhiyadham, Kailari-8, was arrested in Sadakpur, Kailari-1. In Kanchanpur, three individuals—Karan Bahadur Deuba, 39, and Rohit Shahi, 35, of Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality-3, Dadeldhura, and 25-year-old Ram Bahadur Bista of Shuklaphanta-11—were arrested from Hanumanthan, Belauri-1, and Gaddachauki, Bhimdatta-11, according to the Sudurpaschim Provincial Police Office, Mahendranagar.
In Surkhet, Anish Nepali, 21, from Nepalgunj-14, Banke, was arrested from Katuka, Birendranagar-14, with a substance resembling brown sugar, according to the Gothikanda Police Post.
Meanwhile, in Sankhuwasabha, police arrested 28-year-old Ram Bahadur Adhikari of Tiritire, Dharmadevi-4, 26-year-old Keshav Ghimire, and 38-year-old Devendra Thapa of Pulung, Madi-6, with a substance believed to be opium, the Chainpur Area Police Office reported.
Police said that further investigation is underway.
