Four arrested in possession of illegal drugs from cafe in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Police have arrested four individuals for smuggling illegal drugs from a hotel located in Lalitpur. They were arrested in possession of a Kukhuri.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sabina Maharjhan, 29, Samit Rajbansi, 29, - both residents of Sanagaun, Mahalaxmi Municipality-6, Lalitpur -  Amal Pokhrel, 29, of Mahalaxmi-9 and  Padam Lama, 35, of Godawari Municipality-5.

Among the arrested, Maharjhan and Rajbansi are the owners of the hotel. Police arrested four people along with drugs from the cafe, based on the information provided by a person who was previously arrested on the charge of consuming drugs.

A team of the District Police Range, Lalitpur arrested them from Chiyachu Cafe Tabaa located at Timalsina Chowk, Mahalaxmi-1 at around 5:30 PM on Sunday.

Nareshraj Subedi, Superintendent of Police (SP) and spokesperson for the District Police Range, said that police recovered tramadol 70 tablets and a khukuri from them.
